BIC Subject Codes
A key part of the ONIX project is to ensure that BIC, the international subject classification standard, meets the requirements of the Australian industry.
The Swift organization issues the Bank Identifier Numbers or BIC. IBAN will be progressively introduced in most OECD countries to allow Straight Through Processing of cross border payments.
For this reason, Bank Identifier Codes (BICs) are often called SWIFT addresses or codes.
