BIC Subject Codes
A key part of the ONIX project is to ensure that BIC, the international subject classification standard, meets the requirements of the Australian industry.
Institutions send each other messages over the network to confirm trades or to expect a wire transfer as examples. IBAN and other types of codes are sometimes requested in conjunction with SWIFT Codes
International Bank Account Number (IBAN)
European countries have adopted a standard known as an International Bank Account Number (IBAN).
BIC + IBAN international bank transfers are faster, more efficient, and low-cost as they are sent directly through the SWIFT interbank network without using intermediary banks (who deduct charges or fees for their service).
