The International Bank Account Number or IBAN is a bank account number designed to simplify and speed cross border transfers; it is structured according to ECBS format. For this reason, Bank Identifier Codes (BICs) are often called SWIFT addresses or codes.
The regulator has also recently noted that some firms are incorrectly populating their counterparty and customer or client identification fields when reporting principal trades.
