The SWIFT Bank Identification Code is an internationally-recognized system of codes for identifying banks (see ISO 9362). ISO 9362 (also known as SWIFT-BIC, BIC code, SWIFT ID or SWIFT code) is a standard format of Bank Identifier Codes approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). August 2002, and which was limited to minor additions and relocations.
The International Bank Account Number or IBAN is a bank account number designed to simplify and speed cross border transfers; it is structured according to ECBS format.
