The SWIFT Bank Identification Code is an internationally-recognized system of codes for identifying banks (see ISO 9362). You can fill in all of them at once or just one keyword and hit enter. All of that problem just for the sake to ask for a SWIFT codes. Institutions send each other messages over the network to confirm trades or to expect a wire transfer as examples. This delay is not the first that the FSA has been forced to announce (see our coverage here): the launch has been delayed for nearly two years, as the regulator has struggled to get its current surveillance system up to scratch in order to be able to process transaction reports for AII transactions.
